User Reviews

  • Super for CD ripping...especially the old CD's. Whipper (an excellent command line ripper) failed when ripping...as did Asunder. K3b gave no errors and produced flac files faster. I hear no difference in quality so definitely recommend. I did not go 5 stars as I have not used all the functions of this app.
  • I have tried this with the new version 19 of Linux Mint Tara and it works great. I was scratching my head trying to find the MP3 drivers for the program and finally came across this thread on the Mint forums. forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=113999 The answer: sudo apt-get install libk3b*-extracodecs worked for me! I noticed that a lot of people were looking for the correct drivers and having a hard time. I hope this will solve their problem.
  • Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, very hit-and-miss and unreliable. My drive's fine, it works flawlessly with other software including Alcohol 120% and Windows' built-in disk writing, but K3b just isn't reliable enough.
  • Pretty good but did not work well for me. I was burning mustic for my wife's dance school recital and she wanted a 2-second pause between tracks. K3b clipped off the last 2 seconds of the music on each track! Could not find a fix for this. I ended up using xfburn and she put in the silence "manually" with Wavepad on her Mac. (Why not use ExpressBurn or iTunes on the Mac? Well, we tried it and those CDs ended up with a strange "fuzz" when played on the studio sound system. CDs burned with xfburn on my laptop did not have this. Yup, pretty strange. )
  • Great stuff.
