A couple days ago I've uploaded a tarball for K3b 2.0 RC2. This version contains the translation files for libk3b, libk3bdevice and K3bSetup that I missed last time. No other changes has been made.
Hi, today we have released K3b 1.90.0 which is a Release Candidate for 2.0 version. You can grab the sources here.
Basides bugfixes the main change is that K3bSetup uses KAuth now. That means kdelibs 4.4 are required to build it. If you want to build K3b with kdelibs 4.3 you’ll need to disable K3bSetup at configure time (pass -DK3B_BUILD_K3BSETUP=OFF option to cmake).
I would like to thank all users who took a time and filled bug reports. Without you K3b wouldn’t be as stable as it is now.
We plan to release the final version on March 15.
Just a quick update for everyone interested. We closed our old mailing lists hosted by Sourceforge and moved to:
See you there!
After two months of work I’m pleased to announce the first beta release of K3b. It is the last testing version before stable 2.0. If everything goes fine, the stable version will be ready in the end of February.
Michał Małek I think today we should call him the new K3b core developer - did amazing work on K3b 2.0 which was never this close to a final release.
If you want to know more about Michał read his introducing blog entry on the planet.
Thanks to Michał Małek K3b has seen a lot of fixes and port work. It is time to get a new alpha version out there.
This is still not intended for production work but is already rather stable.
Well, 1.65.0 will not be the basis for the bug crush week. 1.66.0 comes with a bunch of bug fixes to the internal job classes and some small GUi fixes.
There are still many open issues with the GUI which needs fixing. So this is only a testing release, not intended for production work.
It has been a long time since the last K3b release. But development has not stopped, it just slowed down a lot during the last two years.
Now with KDE 4 being really stable it is time to finally get K3b out there, too. This is not it yet.
This is a testing release not intended for production work!
Soon K3b bug crushing week will start and this release will be the basis.
